It's hardly 'essential' is it? It's useful but if you're buying a second hand car then the overall condition of the vehicle is what's 'essential' any extras are bonus.
If buying a new car however, for the £50 then I would class it as a wise act!
The only real beneficiaries are those that have factory sat nav as that's where the Highline comes into it's own. Having said all this though I have seen plenty of young lads buy cars that have really high specs and they treat the vehicle appalingly and the cars look like skips inside, so to them it may well be essential as they'd be more desperate for bragging rights down the local boozer.
