they should check for updates/recalls to ALL vehicles before the vehicle comes in.. its good practice, as they say.

the more courses i go on and more people from other dealerships i talk to, it is amazing how some are still up and running, as they just dont have the enthusiasum for the band or customers to be deliverying good customer service.

we are out of the way where we are, york and hull both are a hour away at least.. but we actually get people tavelling to us from both those areas, as they would rather spend money on fuel and be happy for coming to our dealership, than go localy and be un impressed.

my mate whose flywheel just went boom got his car back from the stealers to find it in a shocking state. Oil marks oily fingerprints and worse still scratches all over one wing where the lazy good for nothing mechanic was stretching into the car. The said they don't use magnetic wing protectors, just suction ones but there was no evidence of suction marks. Rejected it and got the marks polished out. Shameful treatment from Arnold Clark Merrylee in Glasgow.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

parked so close to car next to it that the cars door had a mark on it
didnt clean it even though they said they would
didnt find the original fault anyway
managed to average 20mpg on test drive
left one window open

I felt like slapping him when i got back to my car

Believe me i did!! Their response was to promised me a free valet then next time I came in, all I had to do was ask for the manager Mike. Guess who no longer worked there the next time my car went in????

Before I was more knowledgeable with Vr's (not mk5 I know but fits) I had a problem with my golf. Took it to my local Vw for diagnoses, After £200 I was told it was the bottom end, some cylinders where pitted and scored, they used a camera to look apparently. I was then quoted £3400 for e recon' engine fitted. This resulted in me selling the car onto a friend. Some 6 months later After I had learnt alot about the Vr6's I took the head off said engine and the cylinders where fine!!!

Now I do all my own work on cars.
