LOL - bit of an update for you.
I was taking a friend to a job interview yesterday. We had some time to kill, so I thought I'd pay my local dealer a visit (taking the advice of some members on here to go and talk to them).......
Walked in, asked to speak to any of the sales team. Was questioned about who I wanted to talk to. I replied with well, I've now forgotten the name as it was coming up to six weeks ago since I was expecting a phone call!

I was told that the team were all in a meeting and were too busy to come out to talk to me!!! <grin>
To say I was a little bit surprised would be an understatement.
Especially when she aksed me if I would like to wait until they came out (another 20-odd minutes!)
I declined her offer and left!!
Went over to the local Ford dealer (been semi-looking at a Focus ST-2)...... not ONE person came up to me. Kept me waiting for about 10 mins, whilst I stand there looking at the brochures. I managed to make eye contact with someone who then (IMHO grudgingly) looked into my inquiry.
The salesman was pretty useful when we got talking. Found me a car, but to drive it would COST me a deposit!!! The dealership didn't have an ST-2 in stock, and they would have to bring it down from Grimsby.....at my expense by the sound of it!! LOL!!

The other VW dealers haven't returned any calls at all, despite my constant calling last week.
One of the Audi dealers had a GTI - I inquired, and waited. And waited. And waited.
Then I had an email back from them!!!!

Asking if I was happy with the sales service I'd had so far, and would I be proceeding with the deal?
I had to reply with that I would gladly comment on the service, once I'd actually had some!!!LOL!!

I also tried several Indy dealers, who advertised their large amounts of GTI stock. After speaking with them, it turns out that they don't have any in!!!LOL!!
I'm beginning to think it's me!!!
In the meantime, I will keep looking as I'm keen to have a GTI. However, I fear it's a local thing and I may have to travel to get my car

Dan
ps also checked with HPI & DVLA about my car (to check there's nothing dodgy there), and as far as these two organisations are concerned, my car is spot on!

which is nice
