I just got an interial FM aerial, as it means I can get rid of the one on the wing now, now it does work and it seems to work quite well, but when I turn it up past a moderate volume, it becomes all distorted. I've no idea what's going on.

The new aerial is plugged into the radio socket on the back of my headunit, and also into the remote feed cable at the wiring block, mind you it is also plugged in there with the remote cable going to the amp, could this be causing interference?

I would say yes, mine was fine, why not try it on another switched live.

connect the aerial power to the ignition live on the h/u loom
that should solve the problem
whats happening is the remote out only supplies around 2 milli amps and sometimes when you add extra accessories the remote cannot supply enough current

Interesting, lol! Which ones is the live for the headunit then? I'm assuming I'm just wedging in the little 12volt wire into the block?

Sorry chap but what's a bullet? LOL! Just so I know, if I connect it to that wire, will it drain the battery in any way?

it is a push together connector and will look like this

it will not drain the battery as you are going to connect it to the ignition side of the stereo so will only come on when the ignition is on
