Changing Brakes

Hello Guys

As the title says im looking to change my brakes, I know a lot of people seem to go for the R32 or Cupra brakes but I want to keep mine the same size, just changing them for better discs and pads as the car is remapped already and still stops fine and isn't likely to get much quicker with the other mods I need/plan to do. (milltek, dv dsg intake and tip)

Iv looked of the net this week and haven't had much luck, il looked on Brembo and places like that but when I find some they looked like a big upgrade as the kit was over £1000.

I think my brakes are the following size (not 100% if wrong please correct my lake of knowledge  )
Front- 312mm
Rear 256mm

Also when I change my discs I want to get vented ones because they look

Arent teh standard disks 288mm, therefore you would need different carriers?

that is correct but i upgraded to the 312mm's about 2 years ago

Max's Anniversary comes with the 312mm's as standard

Why does whoever wrote that thing about brakes say this :
Drilled discs

A common misconception is that the purpose of drilled discs is to promote cooling. This couldn't be further from the truth, The real purpose is to reduce weight. 
Drilling can allow brake dust and gases to escape, but with modern brake pads, this usually isn't a problem. Choosing a drilled disc for that purpose doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Many high performance cars like Porsche and Mercedes AMG come with drilled discs from the factory. For these cars, the drilling is mainly about the looks, just like bright red calipers. When people do serious high-performance driving on a trackdays, they usually swap to regular plain discs.

Drilled discs generally wear out brake pads faster and produce much more brake dust as a result.

Drilled discs have a shorter service-life than plain discs and tend to develop stress fissures/cracks over their lifetime

What pads would you guys recommend then, a set of EBC and I guess either greenstuff or redstuff ones.

I would buy the EBC plain discs rather than the more expensive turbogroove's, & either the red or yellow stuff pads, depending on how hardcore your driving is.

They're quite cheap from www.buypartsby.co.uk

ps  You will need to look at the Audi app's if you want the yellowstuff.
