Hi there

just wondering what the ride quality is like from someone who has a set from hottuning?  How stiff are they for example?

cheers

Yep, they're crap and soon to be for sale.

I've had them for over 2 years now and the ride is hard, there is barely any dampening and they'll rattle all your interior trim loose.

Buy proper springs and shocks.

I don't think it matters what supplier it is, its still the same mass made poop.

I bought mine @ £220, if they're selling them @ £160 - it should imply that the supplier they've changed too is worse

I've got them on my 16v, I only really got them so I could go stupidly low though.

They replaced a set of 40mm Koni shocks and springs, which were a bit soft for my liking.

Tbh I was very impressed with the difference the coilovers made to the car, reducing body roll unbelievably compared to the Koni's. Fair enough there is very little dampening, but feck me does she stick to the road through the corners (when I didn't have her stupidly low).

I am now totally sick of having the car sitting on the deck though. It's destroying the car by rattling everything loose, handles like sh!t and is just plain uncomfortable.

I will be raising her back up to a more practical ride height soon, but am pretty happy with the performance of the coilies overall.

I have a set of the newer ones fitted to my car.

I wont lie the ride is very hard but as said above it does totally reduce body roll and for the price i was quite impressed.

Saying that I have just bought a weitec setup which means the hottuning coilovers will be for sale very soon.

It depends what you want really, if you just want the car slammed then the hottunning ones are for you, if you want to set the car up for perfect handling then I would say springs and shocks lowered no more than 40mm

EDIT: I'm assuming you meant what weitec set? :)

I ran a set on my mk3 for 8mths and I would never use them again, yes they are cheap but I would go for a shock / spring kit next time.
