« on: 09 March 2009, 16:37 »

are you sure its knackered?? I was told my cv was the creak issue on mine and it turned out to be the hub!

oh and £51 for the cv is very expensive!! I can get them for £30-35 (exchange) with the boot included or the whole driveshaft for £115

was it the cv?
i had a very wierd grinding nosie fm n/s front and me and diamond hell suspected CV joint, as the boot is split and most of the grease is around the wheel so we thought joint might have run dry. Just been outside, jacked car up removed wheel and noticed a very distinctive groove on the brake disc, had a look why it was tehre and the metal shield behind the disc was touching it

took it for a spin and was so relieved to hear the noise wasnt tehre.
