Sound system in a lupo?
« on: 13 July 2004, 17:04 »
Hi there guys,

I was talking to a mate today (owns a black lupo), and he said he wanted to uprate his sound system with some rear speakers to give some bass, but his parcel shelf isn't big enough for 6x9s.  After a quick look around the car the only way I could think of mounting any 6x9s would be on a raised boot platform made of mdf.  He isn't interested in buying a sub so just a box is out of the question :P

I was just looking for any input you guys might have, since I can't think of any other way of doing it :)

Thanks

I doubt that'd make any difference at all as 6x9's are freeflow speakers needing a boot under them to work properly.

What about fitting a 8" sub on the shelf?

On closer inspection he can just about fit 6x9s if we build another shelf :) I'll try and persuade him to get an 8'' sub too ;)

you'll never get a good system with bass without a sub. focal make some cute 5" subs that work with a 5-8 litre box. I think they're about ?130 a peice, but this is focal. anyone that knows ICE will tell you.

If you cut a 15" hole in the roof, then you've got a ready made sub enclosure, you may have to tape the windows in, but at least you'd still have room for the shopping  ;D
