its like saying a Ford Focus Zetec engine is MUCH better than a 1960's Ford Mustang V8.
I often compare apples and bananas and am surprised at how different they are.
I'll probably at some point go down the ABF route, but I won't look back at my K-Jet days and say "what a sh!t engine!".
We're talking about the injection system here, not the motor. The KR motor is a very good motor, but is runs a painfully simple injection system. With the variety of injection systems available today it's possible to get more power out of a KR motor with a different method of injection. Installing the ABF Digifant 3.2 system on a KR might create some interesting results.
Yes there were Digifant systems available with lambda in Golf2s but only on the continent on catalytic converter equipped cars..... I'm running such a system on the Syncro at the moment. I was due to nail an ABF in to the car soon, but as I have a Megasquirt system lying around I'm tempted to replace the Digifant II system with Megasquirt on the 8V I'm running with at the moment - it'll be interesting to see what difference we can pull out of the motor just by changing the injection system. Might prove a point or two, or disprove some things which would be just as interesting.
