as title really please guys, going to buy another engine but just need to know if i need my ecu unlocked or if there are any other problems

the ecu is coded to the ignition not the engine...just make sure you buy either obd1 or 2 (depending on what you currently have)

Why do you need new engine if its only a big end gone?

Just get the crank ground and new shells!

I am guessing it much cheaper to buy the full engine than get the crank sorted (to get the chains replaced its about £700!!)

no its not whats the point when you do some more miles on a second hand engine it will go again

I would pick up a s/h engine as cheap as poss, replace the chains and give it a full check over before fitting it.

half the cost in doing the chains is the stripping of parts/engine!!....
