Bought a new R32
« on: 04 March 2009, 16:09 »
hello peeps...not been on here for about 12 months!

anyway, traded the e55 against one of these 'clearance' R32.

uk car in black, 3 dr, 09 plate..heated leather, cruise, dsg, rns 510, cruise, park sensors etc...

got a whopping discount and am looking forward to having a tinker.

picking it up saturday so will have plenty of questions i would imagine.

here's my first one.

i want to run my phone throught the nav, and my ipod, and apparently i get can full ipod control through the unit..i.e artist, album, track etc etc....

what lead do i need to run from the unit, do i need a software install, and where/how much is it?

thanks in advance chaps

ooooh welcome back JT!!!

Think Vrstu (??) is the person to speak to about using your phone through your nav. Great combo when used with the RNS510 and highline

What made you trade the Merc monster?
done 63k, doing 15 to the gallon, needed taxing, two rears and a warranty extension...( about 2k to sort all of that)

add they gave me a great px price and then knocked 6500 off the price of the r32.

the deal was just daft!

cant wait.

Sounds great - best colour and good spec too

Agree with R32, PM Stu and he can fix you up with a OEM phone unit - it can be coded to work through a MFSW as well.

I have the MFD2 Sat Nav so cannot advise on the iPod in the RNS510. Mine works using the MFSW buttons (and Highline Computer readout) but you don't get artist/album or track info

Check out VWNavi.com for more info. Link here: http://vwnavi.com/forums/

Enjoy
