Hi,

sorry i've not read the rules and hope you are allowed direct links, I saw this deal at peter cooper in hedge end southampton and wondering if it is a sensible deal for an R32, sounded good to me, was on a buy one get a fox free OR get like £7.5k off.

I had also been looking at some 1.4 gt's on motorpoint which are 09 plate but imported from ireland and under the bonet it was a bit rusty!

I fancied an R32 too. Even went shopping for one in late November at my local dealer who had (and incidentally still has) a nice blue one with leather and dsg for 21500. He refused to take anything else off the price, but offered a decent trade in price against my 1 year old GTI. However when you look at the finance deals these days, they are less attractive. I went for a balloon payment type deal on my GTI and got a really nice monthly rate. However a year on, in the recession, the finance companies have low ball valuations on R32s and GTIs. They reckon a 3 year old R32 will be worth £6k, so offer low final payment values, which pushes the monthly payment up to almost double what I pay right now, borrowing only a couple of K more. Result, it's near impossible to fund an R32 via finance unless you have the cash to go for a full repayment deal and can shop around for the finance. Hence, this particular dealer can't shift this one.

I didn't realize so many red r32's out there, quite popular then!  Very tempted, but need to think about the finance side of things + impacts on tax + fuel!!

I sometimes wish I didnt have to drive mine.. but had to follow it around (strange I know)... but just hearing from outside rather than inside makes a big difference

Fold your rear seats down, and remove the boot floor carpet - then you should hear more of the zorst notes.

I thought all R32'ers removed the boot carpet to try and make the boot near the size of a GTI's.
