I know the feeling!!! By the rate Golf are going up a base model will be £35k by the time the mk7 gets here!
To be perfectly honest though, I sincerely reckon that the mk7 will again be a heavily facelifted mk5. To come to this unscientific conclusion I have based it on the fact that the new Jetta is just the old Jetta with a big facelift and, by the sounds of it, some Passat parts chucked underneath. The new Passat is really the previous Passat. The new Polo is just the old Polo with a slightly lighter bodyshell and the new corporate face and dash plastics. You get my drift?
With the way Golf prices are going, I hope that the next Leon is a beauty as even that is heading into expensive territory but may still be more affordable than a Golf. Either that or my existing Golf (bought ex-demo and way before all the price hikes) will have to last me until I retire and get my bus pass!!!
