I know the feeling!!! By the rate Golf are going up a base model will be £35k by the time the mk7 gets here!
To be perfectly honest though, I sincerely reckon that the mk7 will again be a heavily facelifted mk5. To come to this unscientific conclusion I have based it on the fact that the new Jetta is just the old Jetta with a big facelift and, by the sounds of it, some Passat parts chucked underneath. The new Passat is really the previous Passat. The new Polo is just the old Polo with a slightly lighter bodyshell and the new corporate face and dash plastics. You get my drift?
With the way Golf prices are going, I hope that the next Leon is a beauty as even that is heading into expensive territory but may still be more affordable than a Golf. Either that or my existing Golf (bought ex-demo and way before all the price hikes) will have to last me until I retire and get my bus pass!!!

Well Andy,

It's my bus pass that got me into this tortured mess. Now I can neither ride in a bus or drive the car.

Maybe if I had paid for the trip the driver would have taken more care?

They say you get what you pay for. I paid fcuk all and ended up fcuked up!

Now that's not cricket old chap.

Perhaps something a little more upto date?
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/251851/seven_up_for_golf.html

The OP link is ancient! So i posted the above link from one of gizzywizzy's earlier posts which is more likely to be what the ACTUAL mk7 will look like. Honestly, if Mr Nosh (sorry wash) is as usual just posting to wind people up, he could at least be up to date!!
I take the last part of that back  :embarassed: just noticed when the OP was posted.

It's bound to look Golfy, but also designed to look like a poor man's Audi.  The Mk5 GTI looked too good and nicked sales from Audi, Walter De Silva soon took care of that and came up with the rather bland design for the Mk6 GTI.

If it is to be shown at Frankfurt at the end of this year then we should see a special edition Mk6 or two about now.  Then the run out models full of leather and gadgets at no extra cost.
Currently digging a bunker.

Just looks cheap! They had a good thing going with their styling all through the product range when they brought out the Mk5 but I wouldnt buy anything they make at the moment purely on the looks. Id rather have a megane and thats built by surrender monkeys!

Autoexpress isn't the most trustworthy source for images of new cars. I'll hold off on any opinion until I see a photograph of a real mk7.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3
