lol theres a good reason for it too , these 24v engine are sh!te , ive blown 3 engines and all ended up in crank bearing failure , after doing some research from companys that build these , this is a common problem on the 24v for either of spun bearings ,or crank failure , and due to the cost of these things ,im going to get a old 12v vr6 and turbo that , main reasons are ,cheeper to buy, and easyer to get hold off, down side im going to make another manifold for the turbo ,,,

ouch  Not good then.
At least you've got more sources of a VR6 engine

yep,
going to try a good old 12v  and turbo this , .

so whats next , ive decided to go back to oringal idea and use a mk3 12v vr6 and turbo that , they cheeper to replace, and i should be able to get 20psi from it ,, i know they dont look as good , and maybe a little down on power , but once ive re adapterd it to a turbo , verything should run smooth (fingers crossed)
first the bargin 65.00 ford galaxy engine lol (cd-v6) bought from a auto with a headgasket failure ,, (cheep and cheerfull ) bought it thursday
first the engine

then stripped it/bores look good, crank looks good/ill replaced the timing chains/tensionors/giudes while its out tbh as these are own to be rattley buggars

next went out and got some piping to make a new exhaust manifold  as i carnt use thoses vr6 turbos as theres no room for my turbo

and just had time to chop a collector

then removed the old vr manifolds and noticed some are ovel ,so modifyed the pipes
to fit

ill make a start on the flanges and start assembly when the engines all built in the caddy and use my 02m gearbox so i can keep it 4wd ,,

oh bugger, would an r32 block not be an option?? or is that gonna be hard to source parts and overly expensive with the possibility that ull just have the same problems as the 2.8?

i do admire your perserverence (thats probably the worst spelling ive ever done) if id of ever got the tools time and money together, id of still lost hope after blowing the first engine lol

lol ive had a r32 engine same thing crank /bearing failure , its defo a problem with all 24v engines , so chuff em , ill try a 12v , as ive seen more relieable engines and not heard many crank failure problems from them ,,
