mk 3 gti 8v bhp ?

hiya iv just got a mk3 gti and i no its only 115bhp at the moment but is there much i can do to boost it up to match my mates 130bhp golf mk tdi ???

Yeah, put a new engine in it.

You can spend hundreds for about 30BHP.

Panel filter, drilled aurbox, de-cat and a good service is about it. Discussed regularly, 8V's just aren't powerful. Plus that TDI has MILES more torque too.

As said.. unles you spend real money it nearly pointless increasing the bhp as an exhaust,decent chip and filter will give 10-15bhp max, you need head and cam work or a turbo conversion!! for good results

Forget wasting money on an 8v!!!

Sell it and get a 16V! Its a no brainer!

Yup, deffo are. When I say that I mean in terms of the Golf engines. Not so much power I suppose but the 16v's are easier to tune. :wink:

You mean for a GTI it has not that much power. . . .

16v might be 150bhp in place of 115bhp but torque matters and a 16v is only around 11lbs ft more.
