Head unit Fitting

Bit of a long shot here i know, but as you can see by my sig, i also have a mark 3 astra, which i use for driving back and to from work, in order to keep mieage down on my mk3.

Anyway i need to put a new head unit in it, as theother one is a keycode one, and i aint got the code.

After removal of the existing s****y vauxhall radio i realised i have no way of getting my cd head unit in as the hole in the dash is the exact size of the radio, due to the iso plugs being on the back of the radio, and they line up with the corresponding sockets on the back of the hole.

Does any one have any suggestion as to how i can fit my cd head unit?

yeah remove the 'shatty black hole!!!!' that is the vauxhall cage, youll need a few screwdrivers to remove it, but its a piece of cake, draw it out then un clip iso plugs which will fit into new stereo, you may need a ariel adaptor (about ?2) as the socket that you remove from the vauxhall cage dosnt fit most comon stereos......

You may need a hex bit in order to remove the cage - its right in the centre of the cage, at the back (this is case on mk 4 astra's, it may not be the case on the Mk3's).
