I've got black trim though, so i'm trying to have as little silver/brush as i can, i don't want to make it look odd, that's why i'm wondering about this base ring!

I noticed as well yesterday the door handles (Ones you use to open the door.) are crome which looks rubbish, can these be changed?

Yes lupo GTI is cool just gave one i had to Ivor. Should be some pics of it fitted in his mk4 soon

Have I fitted the surround correctly, though?  I did take it as you were supposed to use your old surround, as the Lupo surround seemed a completely different shape??

Yep use your old surround as you say the lupo one is wrong shape
