G60 Hesitation
« on: 12 February 2009, 03:40 »
My G60 (bug standard) seems to ''hesitate'' whilst cruising along on part throttle. It seems like is loosing power like an instant misfire, and it only lasts for about a quarter of a second or so.

This only happens when cruising along steadily on part throttle.....

Any ideas, anyone?

Why dont you blast it for 20 miles and see if that makes a difference. Just go nuts along some minor roads and try to spit some sh1t out.

You may be getting an intermittent track accross the plug leads. Re-arrange your plug leads so that they take a different route and try to separate them. If the problem goes away, then you have your answer and you require new leads.

BTW, only just got your email. I have a set of newly refurbished Sebrings that I am not sure what to do with. (Although one now has slight rim damage due to some stupid Italian who did not have a fcukin clue on how to fit tyres. Cnut!)

Just sold mine on.  World's heaviest 15" OEM wheels EVA.  9.3KG.  Only wheel I've weighed that was heavier was an 18" Audi thing.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Sounds like the famous digi-lag to me. Is the ECU/mapping still standard?

@ Darn PB: I will rearrange the HT leads and see if there is any improvement. Also, could you send me an email with pics of the wheels.

@ topher: So you are suggesting that a ever so slight hesitation whilst on part throttle is common with the digi G60's? The car is factory standard.

Yes it is commonly known as "digi-lag" and if that is indeed the problem you are suffering, companies such as SNS offer ECU chips to resolve it.

Checking the timing is spot on will help with the digi lag too!

Check rubjonny's guide in the maintenance section :)
