Well done. Thanks for the photos. We had a 2.9 VR6 with original chains at 215012 miles.
I am at a loss to figure why you needed to do them at 125000.

It was 135000  :wink: and if you looked at the pics on the first page you would see there is quite clearly damage to the  upper guide rail, also there as a whole centimeter of slack in those chains going by the timing makes...

Google vr6 timing chains and have a look at just how many have failed at around the 120k mark, and the damage done... 

It was really for peace of mind  :smiley:

Eh you've given me some motivation to change the clutch on mine. Only a 1.4 loads of room.

Just gotta get a guide now. Doesn't really matter if I mess it up, car was mainly a learning project anyway.

Just make sure you pick the right weekend (weather wise  :grin:), there will be loads of room on a 1.4, i used to have the 1.48v lump in a Seat ibiza a had for a while..... you dont get much easyer imo.
