just boght these speakers they came as 2 woofers and 2 tweeters with 2 cross overs, the wiring diagram shows a amp goin to the cross overs and the cross overs going to the woofers and tweeters. i dont have an amp so could i join the crossovers to the normal 2 speaker wires?

yeh course you can mate
your headunit has a internal amp as it is, just hook them up to the old wires
unless ofcourse you want more power then get a 4/2 canel amp!

done it using existing wires for the woofers at the back and put the tweeters in place of the front dash speakers, not very impressed as they tend to distort over 25+ (not very loud) on the volume, but better thn  my 20 yr old blown ones.

oh-dear!

The woofer and tweeters need to be run through the crossover.  If you dont you will damage your tweeters as they will be getting frequencies they are not designed to play.

wire the existing wires to the crossover and the woofer/tweeters to the output stage of the crossover.  Try to keep them as close as possible to give a good sound stage.  If you seperate them too much you will end up with all the highs at the front and the mids/lows coming from the rear.
