Alpine HU
«

I am looking at getting the Alpine 9880r headunit but am looking for the cheapest place to get it.
A while back I posted up to ask the same question and was given a link to a website in Liverpool / Runcorn area but I can find the post or recall the name of the place.
Anyone shed any light as to where I can get a good deal online?
Thanks.

Sorry to answer my own question but found this:

Anyone else find any alternatives or anywhere cheaper?

With these new Alpine HUs, do you still need the KCA-420i iPod interface box:
http://www.alpine-electronics.co.uk/home/products/ipodr-solutions/kca-420i/
Or is that capability now built in to the new HUs, requiring you just get the HU and a cable?

Just because I won't - doesn't mean I can't.

Yeah free delivery from CAD ^^^
There is no need for the iPod adaptor box but you do need the iPod interface lead, which plugs into a blue plug on the back of the HU. They will set you back no more than £15.

And are the new ones that you don't need the interface box for quicker at navigating the iPod's lists than the old ones that did need the box? The old ones are really slow to scroll through big lists of artists or songs. Anybody have experience of both?
