I hear nothing but good things about the DSG box.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

ifti,

Just buy a manual and sleep soundly.
To assist it would help if everyone polled that their DSGbox was terrible (even if you don't even own a car).

wow.
If you have nothing useful to post, dont bother posting.

Next you'll be polling us on mpg.
Then tyre life.
Then residuals.

Just buy a Toyota Yaris.  That should be safe enough.

lol
You're about as useful as a can opener with an egg! ;)

Don't feed the trolls!

Just sold at 29k with no problems, the only criticism I have, and its purely personal, is that at low speed, ie creeping onto a roundabout etc, it does not like 2 footed use, and I have always driven any 2 pedal car with left foot braking, up to speed you can do this no probs, but at low speeds, as you go to apply the power, the car just bogs down, like a huge flatspot, you then have to come off the throttle and go back on, can be quite hairy if you go for a gap and you just crawl.
Had extensive discussions with VW, until they realised I left foot braked, then they said the system was not designed to allow this, the ECU overides the throttle in favour of the brake.
Just changing your brain not to do it, is hard. But in one foot use, its perfect.
