Does it need bleeding to put new hoses on?

So if you replaced it yourself you'd have to pay for re-test?

Yes and Yes

So I suppose bleeding the system bumps up the labour charge, they putting new fluid in aswell I take it? Just trying to work out the price...

Thing is if you don't have the work done there you have to pay £50 for another test so you're no better off. Got you by the short and curlies.

Almost sounds to be like they worked out just the right amount, so you'd be shafted no matter what decision you made!

to be fair 98 at a dealers isnt a bad price, cost of a GENUINE part plus half hours labour and retest, dealers are more expensive so dont take the car there for MOT as you know if it fails will cost you more

They wouldn't re-test after something like that.  They'll just tick the box and say yeah she's fine.
