Found an elastic band which seems to do the trick! 

& this weeks "Pikey-Heath Robinson" award goes to.....................................................  Ivor Mk4 Turbo!!!  :D

Yeah, I tried to get it into 6th, but it just doesn't want to go in. :(  Might have to send the knob back as faulty, now. :cry:  :D :laugh:

thats funny  but ure gearknob looks like a swollen bell end lol :grin:

ivor u are a legend since i swapped my gaitor i been thinkign since how the f**k do i tighten that brass ring that i loosened to get it off and eureka u just shown me how to solve it..

whats size ring is that and where u get ot from?

You best get to the doctors, Gonad, if you've swolen up like that before!!  :D

What do you mean the brass ring??  It's an elastic band!  :P  I couldn't use the metal & plastic retainer as it was too big for the Anni shaft!

lol u joker...........i meant the brass ring that used to hold the knob to the shaft where u have changed it to the a metal clip whats the clip called and size and where from?

Ah, I see.  It's a petrol pipe clip (15-17mm) - £1.55 for a twin pack from Halfrauds.  However, you shouldn't really need it, as even without that clip on, it should be quite hard to pull off.  (That's if you've lined it up properly AND pushed it down as far as you can - It should make a 'click' noise when it's on properly).
