Fli I6 6" Speaker
« on: 13 January 2009, 16:09 »
Hi, i bought a pair of these from halfords at the weekend, to go in my golf as it has no speakers in it.

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_508417_langId_-1_categoryId_165707

I have fitted them and wired them in, they sound awfal!! It sould like they have no ability to handle any bass at all!! I am running them straight from a kenwook headunit 4x50w and as these are 70w speakers i thought they would be perfectly adiquate!!
does anyone have any thoughts on this or opions about this or the speakers/used them before??

any input would be very much appreciated,

thanks. al.

indigo you need to run them in on static for a couple of days, tune it to a non-station fm signal and leave it on low volume. the plastic cones on these speakers really need to be worn in before anything will happen plus i don't wanna offend but you bought cheap you can expect that much from them right? buy anyways they will sound better once run in, i suggest you hook them upto a hifi in the house and just leave them a couple of days

hey sorry I am not trying to pick out the fact they are cheap, I put some in my sisters car they do sound a lot better when they are run in thats why i suggested you run them in first before commenting on sound. But seriously if everything is sounding bad try the testing them with new wiring just buy some short lengths first to test before you buy to fit the car, also how do you know its not the head unit?

ive had some playing about with these now and am glad to report that these are really good speaker for the price. I think it is the wiring in the car!! I linked them up to my stereo at home and they sound excellent!! They hold the notes very well acreoss the full range and across a wide range of music too. very impressed. Just go to get them sounding that good in the car!!!
