N249 bypass - Done

Well first of all like to say a big thankyou to  ( matt ) northeastgti for helping me with my n249 bypass. Car is much better dosent hesitate and boost feels much stringer. Also it looks like stock as  we tucked everything away  Now just need that sports cat and downpipe and that revised map from nick :smiley:

Mk4 golf 1.8t AUM Hybrid K03s. Custom Mapped by R-tech to 260bhp. CR hybrid turbo Audi TT injectors / fuel pump, Forge tip,THS FMIC,Carbonio CAI, Full milltek turbo back, N249 bypass, Fully poly bushed, Weitec coils. Genuine R32 front bumper and Genuine R-line rear, Genuine Porsche twists, Anniversary black interior.

so what's the advantages of this then and how do you do it? Or am I gonna get a telling off for not using the search function  :grin:

Yup a big telling off lol/ Haha no man. the advantages are it dosent hesitate under boost. Mine used to cos it was throwing up a n249 fault which would not clear. Now the bypass done it has cleared with vag com. My car felt as tho it was holding back a bit and it dont now woohoo. Lol wait untill matt comes online think he got pics :huh:

good to hear your happy with our work today even tho it was bl***y freezing :laugh:your golf felt pretty sharp after and forgot to tell you the ecu will adjust for this with a period of driving  :smiley: nice car you got to m8 tho your gona cost me more money now  :grin: with me seeing your boost gauge i liked looks like thats next lol oh n yep get the 3"downpipe and sports cat on you know you want to m8

It says on that guide if you actually remove the N249 valve by disconnecting a metal line the ECU ' throws a wobbly..'

It does but the metal line and the connections are left on the car connected up its just the vac res thats bypassed the electrical sides still physically there just vacuum side bypassed/removed

Quick question, great mod by the way.

I have removed my dv completly and blanked off the dv vac, so ...... am i basically getting the same mod here?
