Rear axle
« on: 03 January 2009, 18:43 »
hi another quickie. Ive gone wide track on the front with the toledo sub-frame setup. Will I need to swap the rear axle over to achieve wide track on the back, Ive read somewhere about spacers?. Secondly I am thinking of doing the bushes, I hear the poly ones are easiest to do but are not as good as vw ones. suggestions appreciated. cheers

Just fit the Toledo rear beam, with new VAG bushes and see how you find it.

The firmer polybushes are supposed to make the rear end snappy, but that's probably a comment from people used to sloppy old bushes and lacking car control.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

you might want to measure the beam from axle plate to axle plate before you swap it, some of the widetrack car rear beams arn't actually any wider than the normal ones.
