It should be middle or there abouts, I agree with steve, sounds like thermostat issues or temp sensor which old 20v engine had issues with funnily enough

yes she should run at 90 degrees, which is dead middle of the gauge, and should be at temperature no more then 10 minutes, unless your in the artic circle!!.If the engines running too cold, the ecu will think the cars cold and give it more fuel, so mpg will suffer. If you live outa town area steve, id expect 29-30, but if you live in inner city, lots of traffic lights, traffic cues, then 23-24 is the norm for inner city crawl.Running the car on economy ( without aircon and Not using electric seat warmers) will improve mpg by 1-2 miles per gallon.

Yeah I echo what everyone else says really.

About 5 mins until warm air starts coming into the cabin

About 10 minutes for the temperature guage to read 90 degrees.

I have noticed that this engine takes a bit longer to warm up than my old 1.8T...... I just put this down to the fact that my radiator was likely to be in better nick than the old one!

Was -4 on the drive to work this morning an took 18 minutes to reach 90. That was driving at normal speed and not going above 2000 / 2300 rpm.

I need to get out more.

Due to bust batcave door I was parked on the drive last night. Not so warm this either but Im quite sure my outside temp reading is pretty inaccurate. Was reading 4 degrees and always seems to read the same whenever its cold??

But does heat up pretty quick... usually within 2miles I have warm air coming through. 5-6 minutes and we a re running at bang on 90 (slap bang in the middle)

I recall a thread a short while back where the temp needle was being discussed and Im quite sure that everyone's was bang on in the centre. So if yours is not then I would defo get it checked!
