This could be a lot of fun in the Jetta!

...If I can get it to work first!

I guess just make sure you have breakdown cover. Worse comes to worse, you just get a lift home with the AA Man :)

there more reliable than you'd think.

right after mine was built the first time i drove it was for an afternoon round castel coomb,  then  it went for mot,  got taxed and insured  about 2 weeks before going to the ring  then after about 200 local miles  was driven out to the ring  did 10 laps and driven back,  with some playing on the roads round the ring
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Merry Christmas!

I'm intrigued! I reckon my old girl can cover the journey, whether my wallet can though is a different matter.

The biggest challenge about a run to the 'ring and back are the laps in the middle of the trip.

Two laps in my Golf in May ate the front wishbone bushes.

But because Golf2s are so simple and ubiquitous we dropped off the wishbones, bought a set of polybushes at a garage near the track and fitted them back up in a morning.

That said, once you've thrashed the issues out the car should be fine...... it just depends on the size of the issues that you thrash out on the initial laps, I guess!

On any long-haul European group trip the biggest issue you will have to face is interest from the authorities out there - events like the Gumball have switched a lot of police authorities on to groups of drivers causing trouble.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
