We, at vwgolfmk2 owners club are arranging this trip to germany, and gonna do a 'ring stop aswell. the main objective is go to the VW museum and the ring. Its called golfball 535, 535 is the miles from london to the museum. have a read through and get on the list!

id be up for a road trip, but not 3000 miles. it would require loads of time and money, and a reliable car. also id have to stck along in the barge boat, as i wont have a mk2 by then.

You would also need an anchor, and a spare rudder!

Forget about the age of the car. Just go and do it if it happens. If its organised properly, there should be lots of people around to bail you out if the car goes AWOL.

Just take a small toolbox and a few spares. ie Lamps, fuses, spark plugs, leads, electrical wire and crimps. Sorted.
