Looks like a new throttle body is on the shopping list.. even after realigning with vag com the faults didnt clear. Anyone know what kind of price and wheres the best place to get one?

Im going to try this tomorrow

So its garanteed it wont idle high if i clean it. I dont have VAG.com anymore. Just want to be extra extra sure :evil:

No not guaranteed For some reason some lads had trouble with theres??
 Put it this way did mine 1.8T AGU and was so much better after, And had no issues with idle probs at all  :wink:

Nice one! I dissconnected the battery and didnt need vag.com

It was clogged but nothing to effect the running i dont think. Worth cleaning though.

Alot smoother once I cleaned out the sensor pointed below (cant remember the name)



Used electrical contact cleaner (none flux one) and carefuly cleaned it with a cotton bud. Way smoother :cool:

For anyone needing to adapt their DBW TB, open bonet, open drivers door, turn ignition on(but dont start engine).  DO NOT TOUCH THE ACCELERTOR!  You should hear a high pitched noise coming from the TB for about 30 seconds.  Once this stops you are done. No need for VAG COM.

This deff works for my 2000 AUM but I undertand that for some newer cars it doesn't.  Seem to be a random thing.....
