Standard procedure for me has always been:
a) stop if told to
b) Admit the error, apologise profusely and generally submit to their ego.
c) Get away with it (most of the time)
Even if I could nip out of their sight, I'd then be worried for weeks later that they'd be on the lookout for me (especially once I've taken delivery of my white edition 30!). Far better to avoid that stress :-)
Very very true, i once went thru red lights but my mind was honestly occupied with probs id been havin with my gf. The cops looked like they could be tw8ts but i was genuine and they listened asked a few q's bout e n her to see if was lyin etc then told me to forget bout probs, gal aint that important and just be more careful on the road!!!
Wouldve probably been a beatin if i did one and they caught me!!
See, that's why I prefer cops on the road to cameras. I few years back, I broke a red light on purpose to clear the way for an ambulance, only to see it turn off before the junction. I got caught on camera and instant fine in the post and 3 points, which wouldn't have happened if the police had stopped me. I could have taken it to court, but you've already lost by then because of the stress and time taken, not to mention the cost if they decide not to believe you because you've got no proof.
