I think this thread is really quite sad, its not a clever thing to do and is rather worring for this forum that we have indiviuals boasting about this!!

Well seeing as you put it like that... I recently had alittle chase with old blue lights recently but was just a few streets away from my house. I was probably doing about 40 in a 30 at 2am. Which I personally think is acceptable... well all I can say I lost em and retired straight into the garage (with electric door) just like Batman!! thank you thank you

     well done ... they've got nothing better to do than make money from motorists.  When it comes to real crime like that GTI that was recently stolen from one of the forum members here, you get nothing... I drove to Wales last Monday and literally saw about 18 police cars on the way - what a blatant attempt to rinse us further.

ermmm only if they didn't have a choice.  Of course, I don't think anyone on here would be as stupid or immoral as to do a hit and run or similar though.

Wow, that is possibly the most dumbarse thing ever.

Ive been pulled over a couple of times for going along a bit enthusiastically, an once in my old Leon where yeah, if i wanted to i couldve just accelerated an f**ked off but is it worth the risk and hassle? iv never been given a fine or points for speeding, just a talking to an maybe a fine for not wearing my seatbelt.

Obviously the police arent going to stop someone for no reason, maybe goin back to the originaly post, they see a expensive car bein driven around early hours, an decide to check its the owner drivin it not some thievin thingy?

Sometimes there on your side yeah? an thats hard for me to say!

In South Africa if a cop tries to pull you over in the early hours of the morning you dont stop...... You make sure the doors are locked and you floor it.

Standard procedure for me has always been:

a) stop if told to
b) Admit the error, apologise profusely and generally submit to their ego.
c) Get away with it (most of the time)

Even if I could nip out of their sight, I'd then be worried for weeks later that they'd be on the lookout for me (especially once I've taken delivery of my white edition 30!). Far better to avoid that stress :-)
