Anyone removed an RCD200 or similar?
« on: 21 April 2007, 18:49 »

Hi Guys,

I searched but nothing came up.

Has anyone removed or had dealings with the new RCD200 headunit? I bought a set of 4 keys off of Ebay but I can't get the unit out. I want to connect things to it if possible but it's the first head unit to stump me!

All help greatfully received.

It's urban right? That means it must be tougher, obviously.... ;-)

Thanks mate.

I'll put pics up - the RCD200 is a VW standard double din unit used in 06 plates forwards I think.

VW supplied no specs, no useful instructions and no method to remove it. Joy!

Hi

The unit in the Golf V is an RCD300 - is this what you mean ? it is quite easy to remove, but some trim removal is needed first.

If you go over to ukmkivs, in the DIY Guides section, there is a detailed instruction page on how to remove / replace it.

Try these pages:

Thanks man but the RCD300 has rounded corners and the screw mounts - nice guide btw.

The RCD200 has square corners and has four slots, one at each corner which the keys I bought are supposed to fit in!

No success thus far.....  :nerd:
