Not quite the same but the MK8 GTI mats look good and should fit.

Personally I'm now reserving my TCR mats for the better weather. If they wear out, might not be too difficult to have some standard mats restitched in red and get the small GTI tag added.

I did think the Mk8 GTI mats could be an option, the shape looks the same.

I too am reserving my mats, but for high level aristocracy or better only. Only a fool would waste them on someone with an OBE

Also didn’t know the mk8 ones fit.

Is it a case of them being exactly the same or “fit” but not perfect?

May have to look at what the current gti ones look like.

I don't know the MK8 mats will fit, just pretty sure. Before spending your hard earned, perhaps check with those in the MK8 section, plenty there have had MK7s so someone will know for sure.

Had a look (only through the window) of a mk8 GTI at the dealer over the weekend, the drivers does look a similar shape.  The GTI ones have red stitching.

I’m not saying the mk8 mats will be 100% the same fitment, but a mk7 dead pedal is a direct fit on a mk8, the accelerator and brake pedals look exactly the same and even the boot mat fits perfectly. Anybody would think they were the same car underneath…
