the wet cloth and iron method.

Going to have to look this up!

The mats on the whole are ok, it’s just wearing where heels rest.

It's a way of steam cleaning and bringing the pile back up. Lay a soaking wet tea towel over it, then go over it with the iron until it's almost too hot to touch.

Try it on furniture dents in your house carpets too. It's like magic.

I thought this only worked on 100% wool? Will definitely try it then as my drivers mat is compessed at the heel area.

If you are asking me, I bought the 'Grand' version.

Part number 5G2863011BOQV

You can still order them online.

I take it back - they are no longer available.

I have had refunds from 3 different online companies and VW direct won't accept orders either.

I have been after a set of these for a while, have tried VW a few times but they just aren't available.

I believe the supplier is Visscher-Caravelle?  They are located in the Netherlands.  Obviously they are supplying OEMS and not the gen public, but i am tempted to call them and see what can be done.

Not quite the same but the MK8 GTI mats look good and should fit.

Personally I'm now reserving my TCR mats for the better weather. If they wear out, might not be too difficult to have some standard mats restitched in red and get the small GTI tag added.
