Sounds like only the petrol engines switch off. My facelift GTD DSG coasts at just over 500rpm but never switches off completely

mines a gti pp and it revs at around 800 when coasting, not sure whats what..lol :)

How does the PAS steering work with engine off?

My 2016 mk.7 switches of the engine just before actually coming to a halt (if I have forgotten to switch off start/stop) and you can immediately feel the steering go very heavy.

It is dangerous, i almost have "crashed" in to my garage several times when the engine switch of and i canĀ“t steer.. :angry:

On Eco mode I get mine to coast in 'E' but never had the engine switch off while coasting....
