The reason I can't drive it in this week is because I'm away for 5 days and they want to pick it up from my location and bring it back before I need it on Friday.

Do you think I can push for compensation instead and get it done elsewhere?

You are the customer, they should not be dictating to you when they can have the car in. Why can't it wait until you are back and them give you a courtesy car?
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Ask for a refund on the cost of the application and get your local detailer to correct ?

That's the best solution but they'd need me to take the car into the dealer for inspection anyway as otherwise I could just be saying it for a refund.

I guess I should drive it down there, get them to inspect the car and then when they admit it's not a great job I can leave it with them to try and fix it then if they fail again ill just ask for a refund and take it to the detailer. I wouldn't mind even if I got a partial refund.
