It can be a nightmare eh?!  Thankfully I'm 100% happy with my spec as it stands now given my budget and requirements/desires.  At the end of the day it won't be the last car I'll ever buy, and when it comes to swapping, most of what I spec now will be standard and there will be new toys to stress over

Never order a car colour you haven't seen in the flesh.

When I worked at BMW as a junior salesman back in 2005, when the new 3 Series was launched. People went for this colour called 'Arctic'. It looked really nice in the brochure. When it turned up in the flesh though..eeuugh. Some guy actually hated it and was really disappointed.

Damn!  You actually make me feel bad for this poor guy.   That's the big problem with new cars.  When you aren't getting one you know exactly what you want, but when it comes time to hand over big bucks there is all this fretting and self doubt.  Do I want reflex silver or tungsten silver?  Its suddenly a matter of life or death, though you know in reality there is little difference.  5 inch Nav or will I regret not getting the 8 inch?  Can't add it later, oh no oh no, which to choose?  Does it really matter!

This kind of sums me up perfectly. The longer you have to wait and the more you listen to other people or read what they are saying the more it messes you up. You might know with my previous thread that i'm having this great debate with myself over colour - black or white. The problem is i'm 95% convinced about white but the other 5% is eating me up. Add to that all my family and my girlfriend are saying that they think it will look better in black - Aaaarghhhh!!!

You also then start to question options and have you got everything you want. I went backwards and forwards over the winter pack and ended up adding it even though I probably don't really need it. The next dilemma is the fact I've ordered the sat nav pro would it not make sense having it with the better soundpack which I have not added??? However, I need to draw the line at this one otherwise I would end up bankrupting myself

I had a GT demo for a day in black and I must admit it looked nice. My current A3 is black and a complete nightmare to keep clean (I do 30k miles a year mainly motorway though!).

My Mrs. was trying her hardest to convince me to order it in black, but as she isn't the unlucky bugger who has to keep it clean I have vetoed that and gone with Tornado Red.
