I currently have a 97/P reg MK3 GTi that I've had for just over 7 years now.
I think it's time for something newer, so I have been considering a MK4 GTi, probably a 1.8 Turbo rather than a 2.0.
How does the MK4 compare to the MK3? I left the VW stealership I worked for a few months after the MK4 was released - I don't think I drove a GTi, but can remember not being overwhelmed by the "normal" versions of the MK4 at the time.
Had a 1.8t. Wanted one for ages. I went from a MK3 8v anni. In short, I did not like the 4. It had loads of annoying electrical issues, handled lie a barge and cost too much to make it my own. I'm now buying back the Mk3 I sold to get the 4. So, no.
