Hey bud they do help, i have been told the TIP like you posted increases air flow.
Anyway the cheapest i have found that are of good quality have been creation motor sports range, free shipping and feels well made, its what i have used, friendly and very helpful staff too.

a lot of us run this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK4-1-8T-20V-SILICONE-TURBO-INTAKE-PIPE-AUM-AUQ-/160882537147
with no issues

thanks. im only changing it as i want to improve over the original. the forge one promotes it as bigger than oem and is proven to give better flow etc. wonder if the ebay one is bigger?

personally I don't think thats worth getting, Im sure I have read somewhere that that makes little or no difference at all. stick to the ones I posted up make that way should one break its easyer to replae with your standard ones while you wait for your replacements (not that they do break)

If you can wait I think SFS are bringing out a larger 70mm version like the Badger5 large bore Tip (for the KO4) but to fit the AUM.

On a Remapped car it gained 10bhp over the stock tip. I expect it'll be a bit more pricey than those you've posted though
