Didnt try that no, i dont understand why the standard shock goes in easy but aftermarket one wont?

probably over the years the original strut and never really moved so just fit together nicley where as your new strut isnt worn or whatever.

i feel the key to everything with cars is cleanliness!
weather it be strut, rear beam bushes, or just nuts and blots if its clean it will be easier!

JOM's are easy to fit mate lol I would say I would come and do em but I have no bloody time.
As everyone has said clean the hub and copper grease the strut and with abit of force it will go in.
I am off next Wednesday and can help you if that helps.

I found that once halfway in the lug on the back of the JOM strut needed assisting in as it didnt line up properly and stopped the strut from going all the way in.

When you trying next? My mate in Cardiff can/will fit them in his own unit if you wanted?

A little advise take your silicone TIP to a motor factor and buy GOOD new jubilee clips.

Remove the olf TIP beaware of the bolt through the standard tip on the turbo unit as people forget about this and wonder why it doesnt come off. Remove everything from the top then work to bottom of the TIP.
-airbox
-maf
-N75
-DV
-Hocky puck thingy
-bolt through the tip

Then from the top of the car push the new TIP onto the turbo it may help if you have someone under the car to assist it on the turbo and tighten a jubilee clip. The reverse the above. It took me about an hour and half the first time taken my time. Some are stubborn due to the one time only clips etc but you SHOULD be fine mate.
