Evening all,

Hope this is the right section to ask. I don't at the moment have HID's neither projectors at the moment. As were all aware the new MOT rules regarding HIDs bla bla bla..

Just curious to no will the MOT fail if you have the HID kit installed or is it just the brightnes of the light output from the bulbs them selves?

Cheers for the input.

if they are not particularly bright, or you have the correct bulbs. ( you can get HID bulbs made for reflector lenses so they are not too bright now) then its unlikely they would check tbh. unless there bright blue etc.

unless you go to some big chain garage which is likely to check everything in the book etc

other option is fit them after you MOT

not really as they'll fail the next MOT and be an issue if you are ever stopped for anything....

of course all MOT centres should be to the same standard.

I believe they have to be fitted correctly and have working auto-adjuster's fitted to pass the MOT, plus the installation needs to be tidy cause you can now fail on bad/loose wiring, etc

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.
