Morning sir,
I, for one love your reversing tales!
I wont be retro fitting a camera at the mo - XENON love for me! - my office meeting desk is full of xenon goodness!
R32. is Egbert Nosh, I've removed all his posts for 2011 and will continue to do so

Morning to you too Sir,
I do hope those tales are firmly in the past and my tail will remain unblemished.

It seems like a great value option to me - I'll be getting one next time round :-)

The problem with it is, it takes a bit of time to open and start, sounds really noisy as the cover opens and the camera emerges and can go wrong as shown by a few posts. I still think it is a gimmick, though quite cheap to factory order. So, why not.

But still worth having reversing sensors in case the camera malfunctions.

Not sure how many you have experienced but my experience is completely different. So without being accused of jumping on you,  I totally disagree. Opens the second it goes into reverse, the noise is the same as someone lifting the handle to open the boot (better than the sound of hearing the bumper grate along a wall) and I've never had any problems with mine.  My only gripe would be it tends to mist up in certain weather conditions but still very usable.

I can reverse to literally within a couple of centimetres of the car behind me safely knowing I won't hit it.

Would I buy another car with that option? It would be the first option I would look at.

Good to know. I think as a second or first (for many) line of rear bumper defence it is important. One can never be too careful with one's rear. I should know.
It is excellent value when factory fitted.

The reason I didn't good for the rear camera in the first place is that I opted for the DAB radio receiver and you cannot have these in conjunction with each other.  I thought the parking sensors a good compromise to keep the DAB.  Any thoughts?

Its really each to their own. Those with the cameras will probably say theirs is better likewise those with the sensors will say theirs are better.

I'm of the opinion that if it helps in safety then its definitely worthwhile. I'm sure someone will be along that has both.

As for DAB, analogue isn't due to be switched off any time soon so it didn't bother me not having it. Plus I wanted the camera. I also knew I would upgrade to the RNS510 sat nav system which can't have DAB so it would have been a waste of money for me.
