Hi,
excuse my english, its not my mother tongue. I have a 5 door golf mk3, I need advice on upgrading my sound system. And to mention that I want to keep it rather stealth, so no big subwoofer boxes in the boot just wont do. Since the stock audio system has no bass at all, Im looking to fix that problem. Currently Im thinking of 3 ways: 1) Use the spare wheel well as a subwoofer box 2) Build a box for a subwoofer on one side of the boot, partially on the wheel arch. 3) No subwoofer at all, use the doors as a enclosure and add some component speakers that can play quite low frequencyes.
Could you comment on these three different ways, Which idea would be the simplest and which idea would give me the best result. I know that the stealth subwoofer box on the boot side is rather common, but on a mk3, I couldnt then even change my rear light bulbs

? And using the door as a enclosure, I think that theres rather lot to cover up, to archive a closure, in addition to, originally, the door speakers are fitted to the door padding, I would also need to change that? Would the spare wheel well even be big enough for a subwoofer?
