Blazin.... I gunna get a cold feed pipe, have u or anyone got any photos of how it is routed? or explain :) Just went for a lil spin, think it wants more drilling :)

haha, being an 8v as you know there is plenty of room within the engine bay to fit some ducting, im lucky enough to work for an engineering company so got myself some heat resistant flexi-pipe. it runs down to a flange in the front bumper which i made out of alloy. obviously you want to drill a hole in the base of the airbox the same diameter as the ducting, make sure its sealed and then find a suitable path to free flowing air (front bumper) , no pics to hand mate but ill try to dig some out.

alright mate,

obviously at higher speeds there is more air flow passing through the bay so in a way you are correct. problem is (well not really a problem) most people dont drive at motorway speeds all day! dont get me wrong im not slagging people off who drill there airbox just pointing out that greater gains are had from a cold air feed.

if your suggesting people drive slower more then there is less air flow into the engine bay a cold air feed is going to do not alot more... if you want real performance and not just wanting to be a cheapskate then buy a closed induction system with cold air attachment so it is always sucking in fresh air.

I'm gettin some duct from work, heat proof (from a Dehumidifying Drier) **I also work at an engineering company** Ive had a look and can route the duct from a hole in the airbox (when i get time) with a piece of gauze fitted inside the airbox (to stop birds gettin in) haha, then route the duct to the front checkered grill at the bottom of the bumper drivers side. below fogs/indicators.
ohh and shep - I'll call u sarky from now on.

heh, Will my theory work m8? Also, as i'll be probably using the (already cut out) for the original air intake, (removing all pipework) and putting my duct there, would it make it sound louder? **Note i dont want it toooooooooooooooooooo loud** just a nice tone.
