Thanks for the input everyone..

I've got one of these off ebay and i've got no errors on the engine or anything else ( touch wood ! ) is it good enough for a pre remap check ?

R-Tech,   If you do get enough numbers to come up to Scotland,  give me a shout ( hopefully have the cash then )...  You lads have a good rep so I'd prefer one of you lot to map it....

On another note...  Regarding high chance of clutch/flywheel fecking after remap ;

Been thinking this one over a bit,  now my car is the 150bhp AGU, after a remap I'm looking at 185>190bhp max....
Here's the question is the clutch/fywheel on my AGU not the same as an early 180bhp GTi ?
If so then it should handle a remap without problems,  not much difference between 180bhp and 185+.....

Or is it the torque that buggers it up ?

Thanks lads...

The 180BHP Golfs had a 6 speed gear box and therefore a different clutch I think

Now been Revo'd  :evil:

Took the car in yestarday to the Revo agent in Inverness ( Duncan Sutherland Diagnostics ) - He done a full diagnostics and a few other checks to see if my car was fit for a remap - " YES, your car's spot on " was his reply...

Nice one ! - after the remap we took the car a run ( Duncan driving to start with, me in the passenger seat ) to make sure everything was ok.  He was more than happy with the results and looked like he was enjoying the test...  Then my turn,  I only managed a short test run back to the garage due to the traffic but I could tell the difference..

After paying the money and having a good chat with Duncan ( He's a top guy ) it was time to travel home...  :evil:
Fun fun fun - what a great drive home, you can really tell the difference in the car,  really smooth and willing through all the gears....

Over all I'm not sure if it's as powerfull as I was expecting,  but there is a huge difference so I'm happy with that...  I'll wait a few days for the ECU to relearn then give it a good run again and check for further gains...

Anyway,  THANK YOU to everyone in this forum for the help/advice.

Special thanks to - Nick at RTech, Revo Kev, J4LDO and Ivor
