running probs

OK changed the MAF,genuine.The idle is still up and down,driving seems better,so dont know what to do now,getting a bit stressed with all this now.

dont wanna keep chucking money at it and not sorting the probs,just haven't got the cash to spare!!!!

have you tried cleaning the throttle body?

yeah just lambda now I hope,was maf sensor and lambda sensor INTERMITTENT

but probs dont always throw up codes fellas also fault codes also come up when its a totally different problem,it aint that spot on,if TECH 2 (vauxhall) is anything to go by

a coil pack wont always show up as a fault code but needs replacing so Ive been told by a tech who had a cupra

Hmmm true coil pack normally threw codes tho TBH.

Lambda faults are not normally caused by anything else 

Check the wiring to it as that sometimes can be a cause.

Take the lambda plug out and spray some contact cleaner or wd40 into it my mates was full of water and was having same prob as you

Which lambda plug? theres two isn't there? front and behind cat?

idle seems a little better at mo,found wiring to coil packs broken and cracked,put some tape on for now,is this loom replacable?

throttle body seems ok what I can see without removing,a little oil in there tho.

so what to do??? get codes read again I spose with possible replacement of lambda

  UPDATE..................I think I have sorted my problems,getting on for 200 quid later and the problem was the wiring to the coil packs,it was cracked and bare in places,so just insulated it all and bingo!

no pad wear warning coming up or traction control light,no hesitation and smoother idling

just wish I had done this in the first place,rather than putting on a new MAF,Temp sensor,spark plugs,Lambda sensor(not fitted yet!).would have saved a lot of heartache,money and stress.

Now I can start getting "The Slug" a bit quicker,cold air intake,remap and exhaust to start with

No ,the moral of the story is dont just buy stuff and put it on cos vagcom says so

the problem was sorted with £2 insulation tape !!!!!!!!!
