With those s2 girling 60 calipers, do you use s2 pads or do g60 pads fit too? What carriers would I need, will g60 carriers work and as for the brake lines, I assume a set of goodridge g60 lines will work ok?
Btw, anybody know where you can get those roesch discs?

Thanks

If he does have them it's worth noting that if you get the 256mm 16V set up then you only need the carriers part number 357615125C and rotors to upgrade to 280mm discs.
Hey mate,

You wouldn't happen to know which car that part comes from?  I've been thinking about uprating my 256mm's lately.  I'm running a drilled and slotted disc, but with my 16's, a 280mm setup would look even better!  :D

It comes from larger engined Ventos, Golfs, Passats, Corrados, Audi A4s, Seat Ibizas, Cordoba Varios and Toledos.

Anything with 280mm rotors, basically.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Ah k cool.  So for e.g. that should match the carrier off a Mk3 VR6, with 280mm or the later 288mm.  Does this mean, all I'd need is the calliper carrier off a Mk3 VR6 and I could just swop them in?

Sorry for my ignorance.   :embarassed:

Just a word of warning for anyone shopping around for replacement disc's. DO NOT USE A COMPANY NAMED CRN PRODUCTS!!
They allegedly sell after market performance disc's and pads and were advertising on ebay. They also have a very convincing website. I put in an order for a set of grooved disc's, front and rear for my G60 along with a set of Greenstuff pads nearly THREE WEEKS AGO, and I have yet to see what I paid 270 sterling for! Repeated e-mails and phone calls have little or no response and I am considering legal action. I have now found that there are none of their products now listed on ebay and this I find a little worrying. I am decidedly pi55ed off.

Is it that simple?  Just swop over caliper carriers from say a Mk3 VR6 and I'm a winner?  :)  Or do I need to take the VR6 hub, carrier, caliper etc.?

The only differences between the UK spec GTI 16V 256mm brake set up and the 280mm set up are the rotors and caliper carriers.

Mint.. :)  I'm going to source myself some new rotors and calliper carriers then.  :)  I've got a set of drilled and slotted 256mm rotors that I was going to replace my old drilled and slotted ones with, so I'll sell those and make the move to 280mm.  :)
